Marshall at Mankato West
5 p.m., Thursday, April 21

Marshall has moved up to Class 3A after last year’s third place finish in the Class 2A tournament and has a chance to prove itself against Class 3A, Section 2 foe Mankato West Thursday.

The Tigers (3-0) are coming off of an offensive clinic against Waseca, downing the Bluejays 11-10 and 23-0 in a double-header on April 16.

Oklahoma commit Dylan Criquet-Danielson hit an RBI triple, a solo home run and also closed the first game, fending off a Bluejays comeback as Waseca scored seven runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Criquet-Danielson had five RBI in the second game while Golden Gophers football and baseball commit Drew Hmielewski drove in six runs, including three on a bases-clearing triple for No. 5-3A Marshall.

Junior Thomas Yokiel’s walk-off single to right field drove in junior Ben Scott as No. 7-3A Mankato West (3-0) rallied from a two-run deficit and edged Albert Lea 6-5 on April 14. Yokiel also notched the win on the mound for the Scarlets.
