The Royals (5-0, 3-0) picked up three wins last week in Suburban East Conference play, including a 6-1 victory over defending league champion No. 5-4A Mounds View.

Junior left-handed ace Max Meyer is 2-0 this season and has yet to give up an earned run while striking out 17 batters, including eight Mustangs batters on Apr. 12. Meyer was 5-1 and posted a 1.76 ERA last year.

The Raiders (3-0, 3-0) outscored three league opponents 19-4 last week, capped by a 3-1 victory over No. 17-4A Stillwater on April 15, with junior Jacob Peterfeso pitching a complete game with seven strikeouts.

Cole Gnetz, now a freshman at Miami (OH), pitched for Cretin-Derham Hall in each of the Raiders' three wins over the Royals last year.
