Chanhassen at Eden Prairie
4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 13

The loss of power in Chanhassen's batting order may not limit its success this season as the Storm return three of their top pitchers this season, including ace Jordan Bonk. The junior right-hander threw eight scoreless innings in the Class 3A state tournament and was 5-0 as a closer last year.

South Dakota State commit Hunter Even, a right-hander who has clocked an 88-mph slider, and junior left-hander Ryan Och, who has upped his velocity and has several pitches to work with, round out the pitching corps.

Minnesota-Crookston commit T.J. Hokanson mans first base while senior Kevin Sampson recovers from an injury suffered earlier this year. Jared Davidson will anchor Chanhassen’s outfield, which will have sophomores playing alongside the senior.

Eden Prairie similarly has no shortage of strong arms in its bullpen, as this year’s senior class is highly touted for its pitching.

The Eagles will have to address vacancies at shortstop and catcher this season, but Eden Prairie has suffered little drop-off year to year, making it to three of the past five state tournaments.

Ryan Swanson, a 6-foot-5 right-handed Creighton commit, returns as the Eagles' ace. MSU-Mankato commit Trevor Divinski, St. Louis commit Charlie Sheehan and Mark Ehresman will be in the rotation, too.

Eden Prairie’s 13-man senior class has an excess of talent that’ll be fighting for starting spots, highlighted by Nebraska commit and third baseman Jeff Athey.
