Minneapolis Washburn at Minneapolis Southwest

The Minneapolis City Conference looks to be a two-team race between two programs on a roll. Minneapolis Washburn has tossed shutouts in four of its six conference victories while posting double-digit runs in each.

The Millers’ closest game was also the only conference loss for Minneapolis Southwest (9-4, 6-1), a 5-4 thriller on April 16 at Killebrew Park.

Minneapolis Washburn (12-5, 6-0) rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the fifth inning to win, giving reliever Austin Stibbe the victory. Max Kjome went 2-for-3 with two RBI, offsetting a four-RBI performance from the Lakers' Joe Keiski, who doubled twice.

Max Elofson leads the Millers with a .464 average, while James Butler is powering up with a .456 average, two homers and 23 RBI.
