The No. 4-3A Crimson (12-4, 9-3) have surged up the polls with a six-game winning streak that includes two shutouts (11-0 over New Ulm on May 1 and 10-0 over Park Center on May 6). Charlie Horton tossed a five-inning one-hitter against the Pirates to keep the Crimson rolling.

No. 10-3A Anoka (13-2, 8-2) has also been hot on the back of a potent offense and strong pitching staff. The Tornadoes have reeled off 11 wins in their last 12 games. They’ve also been tough in one-run games in that span, going 3-1.

Alex Pribyl singled in the winning run in the 12th inning of a 3-2 victory over Eden Prairie on May 6, ending a pitcher’s duel. Alex Farley struck out seven in going the first five innings for Anoka, before being relieved by Trent Palmer, who had six strikeouts while pitching the final seven innings.
