East Ridge at Woodbury
4:30 p.m., Monday, April 27

Intra-school district rivalries are always interesting, particularly when the split between high schools has come in the recent past. Such is the case when No. 14-3A East Ridge visits Woodbury. East Ridge split from Woodbury (and Park) in 2009 and has quickly made an impact, including knocking out the Royals in the Class 3A, Section 4 semifinals last spring.

The No. 14-3A Raptors (5-4, 4-4) have been up and down so far this spring, mainly alternating wins and losses, so they’re looking for a springboard into the second half of the season. It might have come last Friday in a big 16-6 victory at Forest Lake.

Woodbury (6-4, 5-3) has already defeated its rival once, an 8-1 decision in the season opener on April 6. In that game, Brady Mundahl and Sebastian Holte-Mancera each clubbed a pair of home runs and drove in four runs, while Jacob Dickmeyer gave up five hits and struck out seven in throwing a complete game. Sam Cobbs homered for the Raptors’ only run.
