Cretin-Derham Hall at St. Thomas Academy
2 p.m., Saturday, April 25

Private school powers No. 3-3A Cretin-Derham Hall (5-1) and St. Thomas Academy (4-1) both lay claim to the territory on the east side of the Mississippi River — and neither has any interest in letting the other gain any edge, despite playing in different conferences (the Raiders in the Suburban East Conference and the Cadets in the Metro East Conference) and different sections (4-3A and 3-3A, respectively).

St. Thomas Academy has lost just once in five games, falling 4-3 to North St. Paul on April 15, and is outscoring its opponents 30-15. The Cadets are just a half game behind the Polars and tied for second with Mahtomedi in the Metro East standings entering late April. J.T. Engeswick has already picked up a win and a save, striking out 13 in eight innings of pitching. The Cadets' pitching will face a stiff test in Cretin-Derham Hall, which has scored 56 runs in winning five of six games.
