Perrault to Lead 2014 Knights

By Unknown 02/28/2014, 2:00pm CST

Experienced Football coach with baseball ties chosen as next head baseball coach at Nova.

Ed Perrault has been tasked with taking over the baseball program at Nova Classical Academy for the 2014 campaign. When asked about the opportunity, Perrault told me, "I've always been a baseball fanatic. My uncle, Paul, has been a baseball coach for as long as I've been alive, so it's always been something I've been around. I've spent a lot of years bouncing around as a coach and I'm very excited to have finally landed a varsity job in the sport I will always see as my first love."

Perrault has been making waves for the last few years as the head football coach at St. Paul Academy and Summit School. At 29 years old, Perrault is described by many as a fiery competitor who expects and demands the most from those around him. He looks to take that attitude off the gridiron and onto the diamond in just a few short weeks. Perrault's coaching pedigree reads as if it belongs to someone ten years older. He has been a varsity football  head coach for the last two and a defensive coordinator for three years before that. The "off year" between the two positions was spent as the program coordinator for a youth football program. Away from the football field, Perrault has also coached varsity girls basketball, varsity track & field, Sr. Babe Ruth baseball, and several middle school sports along the way.

When asked what to expect from this year's team, Perrault told me to prepare myself for a team that does all the little things right. Footwork, bunting, and baserunning will be focal points for this year's Knights. He also said that it is his belief these little things may be the key to improving on last year's second place finish in the EMAC standings.

Win, lose, or draw it is clear that Coach Perrault has his sights set on excellence. The only thing left to be determined is whether or not his vision becomes reality.
