Bunt scores winning run for North St. Paul

NORTH ST. PAUL 1, SIMLEY 0: The Polars squeezed past the Spartans when senior Marco Guinta laid down a perfect bunt to score the lone run in bottom of ninth inning of the Classic Suburban matchup on Monday. Senior Brett Martin pitched all nine inning for the complete game win.

BENILDE-ST. MARGARET’S 11, COLUMBIA HEIGHTS 3: Spencer Shaver went 4-for-5 and hit one of three home runs for the Red Knights in their victory over the Hylanders in the North Suburban. Patrick Daly and Joe Melles also homered for Benilde-St. Margaret’s.

COON RAPIDS 10, PARK CENTER 0: For junior pitcher Cody Herrmann’s 17th birthday, he got his first varsity win with a no-hitter against the Pirates in the Northwest Suburban. The 6-foot-4 right-hander struck out seven.

EASTVIEW 3, PRIOR LAKE 1: Taylor Branstad hit a solo home run and Matt Galloway added a two-run shot in the first as the Lightning beat the Lakers in the South Suburban. Winning pitcher Alec Knop threw five no-hit innings while striking out 10.

HOLY FAMILY 2, NORWOOD-YOUNG AMERICA 1: Senior Chris Knoll’s walk-off RBI single gave Holy Family the victory over Norwood-Young America in the Minnesota River. Winning pitcher junior Kasey Ralston threw a complete game, allowing just two hits while striking out 10.

JORDAN 9, MAYER LUTHERAN 4: Senior Luke Kreuser went 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI, leading the Hubmen past the Crusaders in the Minnesota River.

LAKEVILLE NORTH 7, ROSEMOUNT 2: Junior catcher Austin Streit went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI as the Panthers beat the Irish in the South Suburban.

NORTH BRANCH 3, FRIDLEY 2: Senior Tanner Danks hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth, giving the Vikings a victory over the Tigers in the  North Suburban.

ST. THOMAS ACADEMY 8, TARTAN 6: Senior Will Ratelle went 2-for-4 with three RBI as the Cadets outscored the Titans in the Classic Suburban.
