Player of the Week winner

Will Roguske, New London-Spicer. The sophomore pitched all seven innings, giving up one hit in a 5-0 win over Glencoe-Silver Lake. Roguske also provided three RBI while going 3-for-4 at the plate.

Player of the Week candidates

Jared Anderson, Cannon Falls. The senior held Triton to just one hit in a 3-0 win, striking out five batters in 6 2/3 innings.

Caleb Brandt, Fridley. The junior tallied two RBI in a 3-1 win over Minneapolis Washburn, going 1-for-3 with a double and his state-leading 26th stolen base of the season. Brandt is also tied for ninth in the state with 21 RBI.

Ryan Byrkit, North Branch. Byrkit contributed three RBI in a 9-7 win over Cambridge-Isanti. The senior recorded two doubles and one run scored in four plate appearances.

Reed Collins, Farmington. Collins hit his first triple of the season as part of a 2-for-3 night in a 7-5 win over Lakeville North. He also pitched two scoreless innings.

Chance Halligan, Big Lake. The senior went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI in a 5-3 win over Cambridge-Isanti.

Chad Koivisto, Dassel-Cokato. In a 7-6 win over Rockford, the senior tallied three RBI, going 2-for-4 with one run scored.

Max Meyer, Woodbury. The senior, who has pitched the second most innings in the state (49 2/3), tossed seven innings in a 4-2 win over Forest Lake. Meyer gave up four hits and picked up 11 strikeouts, bringing his season strikeout total to 78 -- the third best in the state. Meyer also contributed an RBI, going 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.

Trent Palmer, Anoka. Palmer earned the win in a 5-2 decision, pitching 6 1/3 innings while striking out 14 Maple Grove batters. The senior, who is  tied for seventh in the state with 68 strikeouts, also produced on offense, recording a home run, tallying two RBI in a 2-for-4 effort.

Cole Tatro, Bemidji. Tatro struck out 11 batters in 6 2/3 innings, leading Bemidji to a 2-1 win over Roseau while giving up the one run on two hits.
