Baseball Player of the Week revealed

Player of the Week winner

Sam Carlson, Burnsville. In a 2-1 win over Apple Valley, the senior gave up two hits, allowed no runs and struck out eight over five innings pitched. On offense, Carlson went 2-for-2 with two runs, one walk and one RBI.

Player of the Week candidates

Ryan Acker, Zimmerman. The junior outfielder, who is 10th in the state with a .545 average on the season, went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in a 4-2 win over Milaca.

Marcus Bouley, Anoka. In a 3-1 win over DeLaSalle, the senior pitcher struck out eight batters and did not allow a run or hit over six innings pitched.

Sam Carlson, Burnsville. In a 2-1 win over Apple Valley, the senior gave up two hits, allowed no runs and struck out eight over five innings pitched. On offense, Carlson went 2-for-2 with two runs, one walk and one RBI.

Danny Deis, Wayzata. The senior outfielder drove in half of Wayzata’s runs and finished 2-for-4 with a double in a 6-5 win over Rochester Mayo.

Charlie Horton, Maple Grove. In a 5-1 win over Andover, the senior was 3-for-4 at the plate. He scored a run while also driving in two.

Alex Lindstrom, Eastview. The senior outfielder went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in a 4-1 win over Shakopee.

Lucas Nelson, Legacy Christian. In a 2-1 win over Southwest Christian, the senior outfielder went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

Austin Schneider, Delano. The senior pitcher allowed no runs on three hits and struck out two in seven innings of a 1-0 win over Benilde-St. Margaret’s.

Peyton Sell, Glencoe-Silver Lake. The senior pitcher held Rockford hitless, striking out three batters in seven innings to earn a 1-0 victory.

Cody Venske, Stillwater. Venske accounted for all the RBI in a 3-2 win over Woodbury. He finished 2-for-4 with a walk.
