Osakis appeared on the state’s biggest stage last June, losing 3-0 to BOLD in the championship game of the state Class 1A tournament at Target Field in Minneapolis.
That might not be the last we hear from the Silverstreaks, who have been bumped up to Class 2A this year but seem perfectly capable of handling tougher competition.
Osakis is off to a rousing 10-0 start this season. Eight of those victories have been by at least five runs, and five of the wins have been by shutout.
A deep pitching staff anchored aces Lane Berberich and Jordan Frederick has been pivotal to the Silverstreak’s dominance.
Monday’s big nonconference matchup against Sauk Centre was washed out, so we turn the page to Tuesday's Prairie Conference game against Upsala/Swanville.
