Landis single drives home winning run in the seventh.

Chris Landis had a pair of singles, including a walk-off hit in the seventh.

Jimmy Cron tossed a four-hitter, did not allow an earned run, and Chris Landis' RBI single in the bottom of the seventh allowed Benilde-St. Margaret's to walk off with a 2-1 win over Totino-Grace.

Cron found himself trailing after facing just two batters as Ben Mezzenga reached on an error to leadoff the game, stole second and scored on Brennan Swan's base hit.

The Red Knights responded immediately as Sam Lynch walked to lead off the bottom of the first, moved to third when Nathan Hanks' sacrifice bunt was misplayed and then scored on Keaton Studsrud's infield single.

The Eagles appeared poised to put another run on the scoreboard in the second as an error and a basehit allowed the guests to put runners on second and third with two outs but Cron escaped the jam by striking out Swan.

The game became a pitcher's duel after that as Cron worked a complete game, allowing just one unearned run on four hits while walking one and striking out four. He allowed just four baserunners, two of which reached via errors, over the final five innings and no runners advanced into scoring position.

Totino-Grace's Reggie Meyer allowed two runs, neither of which were earned, on four hits while walking three and striking out five.

Meyer had retired 10 consecutive batters entering the bottom of the seventh, where Michael Kaminski led off the inning by reaching on an error. Polarek pinch ran for him after he had advanced to second on Riley Simonetti's sacrifice bunt and Landis followed by lacing the first pitch he saw into left field for the game-winning hit.

After taking sole possession of the North Suburban Conference lead, the Red Knights will take a break from conference action when they host Wayzata, Monday, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
