The forecast of cool, blustery conditions does not scream baseball, but that won’t take away from the fact that two significant games are on Monday’s docket, both with ties to traditional baseball power Cretin-Derham Hall.

The Raiders, No. 10 in the Class 3A state rankings, are off to a 2-0 start, shutting out both of their opponents; they travel to Mounds View to take on the defending Class 3A champs. The No. 1-ranked Mustangs have also started 2-0. Game time is 4:15 p.m.

An intriguing coaching matchup pits St. Thomas Academy, with new coach Tony Cicalello, at Hill-Murray, also with a new coach: Charlie Cicalello, Tony’s younger brother.

The Cicalello brothers played high school baseball at Cretin-Derham Hall. Game time is 4:15 p.m.
