Charlie Meyer pitched a three-hit shutout to lift Kasson-Mantorville (24-6) to a 2-0 victory over No. 1-seeded St. Cloud Cathedral (24-3).
The top of the KoMets’ batting order supplied most of the offense, combining for five hits and two runs, both scored by leadoff hitter Riley Donovan.
Perham wasn’t pretty, but the Yellowjackets didn’t need to be, getting timely offense and clutch pitching from junior Austin Erickson to defeat Watertown-Mayer 5-3 and advance to Monday’s Class 2A championship game against Kasson-Mantorville.
Erickson bounced back from getting hit in the face with a foul ball to pitch a complete game, surrendering nine hits and three runs without walking a batter. Watertown-Mayer, which was just 9-7 in the regular season, fell to 17-9.
