Coon Rapids' Logan Shore not on final roster

Red Wing's Ryan Boldt will represent his country on the baseball field. The outfielder was selected as one of 20 individuals from around the country to make up the USA 18U National Team.

The news was delivered to Boldt around midnight last night following the final day of trials and training in Los Angeles. Coon Rapids pitcher/infielder Logan Shore was left off the team.

Boldt becomes the first Minnesotan to achieve the honor since Twins star Joe Mauer in 2000.

The busy summer won't slow down. Boldt and his new teammates leave for Taiwan tonight. They play a three-game series against Chinese Taipei before departing for the International Baseball Federation World Championships in Seoul, South Korea. The event will run Aug. 30-Sept. 8.
