It’s always a challenge for coaches to schedule pitchers they want to use during the postseason. For Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder head coach Paul Urman, that decision became even more difficult after their first round playoff game with the Minnewaska Area Lakers was postponed last Thursday due to rain.

With the postponement, it meant that if the Thunder won on Tuesday, they would have to play Wednesday.

Wanting to save his ace, senior pitcher Duane Miller, he chose to go with the next best pitcher Sean Colton. Colton entered the game on a five game winning streak where he allowed just six runs during that span of games.

All hot streaks come to an end, and this one ended up putting the Thunder’s season in jeopardy.
