QUICK Q&A:  SAWYER MOON, WOODBURY JUNIOR

You're a quarterback in football and a right fielder in baseball. Which sport to you prefer? I just love baseball. It's always been my favorite.

Why? I think my skills just fit the sport well. And I like how laid-back and chill it is.

How has the baseball season gone for you? I've been hitting the ball well, better than expected. I'm hitting about .340, .350.

The team has been inconsistent, however. Yeah. We have a good team, in my opinion. But sometimes we play like crap and lose to teams we shouldn't lose to. I don't know why.

Where does football rank for you? Even though baseball is my favorite, that doesn't mean I don't love football. I do.

Last year was your first one on varsity. What was the biggest transition? I think the biggest difference between sophomore and varsity football is the speed. Things move a lot faster.

What is your best football asset? My accuracy, especially when I'm throwing on the run.

With baseball and football, describe your summer schedule: I've got football workouts from 7:30 to 9 every morning Monday through Thursday. And I've got a bunch of day camps so area colleges can have a look at me. In baseball, I have my [American] Legion team and I have a junior showcase in Burnsville and another in Minnetonka. I'll be pretty much on the go the whole time.
