Lose to Coon Rapids 1-0

The Huskies offense was shut out again on Thursday as they lost to Coon Rapids in seven innings at Coon Rapids High School.

Andover failed to provide any offense to support a strong outing by Brent Stong. It was the third quality start this week for the Huskies starters but the offense produced only 1 run in the three games.

Brent Stong pitched 6 2/3 innings striking out 10, walking 6 (two intentionally), and giving up just 3 hits. His efforts followed Kyle Gausman's two hit, one run effort against Blaine on Wednesday. On Monday, Nate Stong pitched 5 innings against Maple Grove and gave up 2 earned runs on 4 hits.

'Your not going to win any games when you don't score any runs, no matter how well your pitchers perform' was a comment from one parent.

Logan Shore got the win in relief for the Coon Rapids Cardinals. Shore pitched the 7th inning. The hard throwing righty walked one and struck out two.

The Coon Rapids Cardinals winning run came in the bottom of the seventh inning on an error.
