Gausman shuts down Hornets hitters

The Edina Hornets weren't able to score a run off of Kyle Gausman during his six innings on the hill. Gausman struck out eight, walked one, and scattered five hits as Andover took home a 5-0 victory over the Edina Hornets in seven innings at Andover High School on Thursday.

Andover took the lead in the second inning and stayed on top until the final out, scoring one run on an RBI single by Nate Stong.

The Huskies added four more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Wade Satzinger doubled, bringing home Davis Johnson who singled to start the inning. That was followed up by Brady Johnson's single to deep short to score Satzinger and loading the bases. Brent Stong singled in Patrick O'Donnell for the third run of the inning. Nick Weeks hit a potential double-play ball to 3rd. Gausman was out at home, but the throw from catcher to first skidded into right field allowing Brady Johnson to score the fourth run of the inning.

Brent Stong lead the offense going 2-2 with a double in the fourth inning and a single in the fifth inning.
