Huskies win 2-0 over Anoka

The Huskies offense didn't make it easy on Kyle Gausman at Castle Field in Anoka. The Huskies offensive struggles continued providing only two runs off Anoka pitching on Friday, but Gausman was still able to get the job done. Gausman threw 6 2/3 innings on the way to a win in seven innings.

It's often said that good pitching, and good defense win games and that was certainly the case on Thursday. Third baseman, Nick Weeks and short-stop, Brady Johnson, played perfect defense and helped Gausman record 10 ground ball outs.

Brent Stong pushed the Huskies ahead in the sixth inning. Patrick O'Donnell singled to start the sixth. He then went from second to third on a sacrifice bunt by Gausman. Stong hit a sacrifice fly, scoring O'Donnell. The Huskies added an insurance run in the 7th. Pinch hitters, Roman Carroll singled to right and Kal Garmaker single up the middle and with 2 outs and a 3-2 count Davis Johnson hit a line drive to left scoring Carroll.

Gausman came out to start the 7th but then handed in over to closer, Zack Miller, who struck out the Tornadoes' Ryan Rumpka for the final out and the save.
