Jackson County Central at Windom

Windom has ascended to No. 16 in the Class 2A poll by defeating all but one team this season (No. 13-2A Pipestone).

The Eagles can continue soaring up the rankings - and the Big South Conference standings - while also gaining an edge in seeding for the Class 2A, Section 3 tournament with a second win over rival Jackson County Central on Tuesday.

Windom's Sam Huska pitched a complete game and the Eagles capitalized on three Huskies' errors to record a 3-2 win in the first meeting on April 21.

Scoring runs is something Windom (9-2, 6-2) can do in bunches. The Eagles posted 44 runs in three games last week, including a 25-14 win over Heron-Lake Okabena on May 6.

Jackson County Central (8-3, 6-3) won six straight games before dropping a doubleheader to Luverne last Thursday. The winning streak was sparked by a sweep of Pipestone in a doubleheader on April 23.
