Rogers at St. Michael-Albertville
4:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 10

Rogers needed extra innings to edge league rival St. Michael-Albertville in the season opener but hopes to complete the regular-season sweep of the Knights in seven or fewer when the teams meet on Tuesday.

The No. 20-4A Royals (9-4, 3-2) enter the rematch red-hot, having won eight of their past 10 games. With a win, Rogers will break a tie with No. 3-4A St. Michael-Albertville (11-3, 3-2) for second place in the Mississippi 8 Conference Blue Division standings and remain in the hunt for a league title.

But there's more at stake in this game than staying within striking distance of division leader Monticello, as the winner will also gain an edge in seeding for the Class 4A, Section 8 playoffs.

This second go-round could provide fans with plenty of excitement, especially if it is anything like the first meeting in which Jake Moss drove in Drew Sagehorn in the eighth inning to clinch the 3-2 walk-off win for Rogers.
