Norwood-Young America at Glencoe-Silver Lake
4:30 p.m., Friday, May 13

Wright County Conference favorite Glencoe-Silver Lake steps out of league play to face Class 2A, Section 5 rival Norwood-Young America on Friday.

The No. 3-2A Panthers have just one blemish on their record, a loss in the first game of a doubleheader with conference foe Dassel-Cokato, and can pave an easier path in the postseason with a win over the Raiders.

Glencoe-Silver Lake (12-1), which is looking to make its third consecutive state tournament appearance, enters the matchup with experience on the mound after returning half its bullpen from last year.

That's not good news for a Norwood-Young America team sporting a 7-6 record and hoping to stop a three-game skid in which it scored eight combined runs.

Glencoe-Silver Lake also has history on its side. The Panthers defeated the Raiders twice last year, including an 8-1 romping in the section playoffs.
