Robbinsdale Armstrong at Robbinsdale Cooper
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 3

Star Tribune Spotlight Game

It may be odd for schools in such close proximity to rarely play each other, but that has been the case for the two high schools in the Robbinsdale district. Armstrong and Cooper haven't met since 2010, but the new scheduling has both schools in the Suburban Red subdistrict.

The Falcons and Hawks are undefeated this season, but something has to give when the they meet this week. Armstrong has been strong in both games, outscoring its opponents 90-18.

No. 6-5A Cooper cruised to a 40-0 win over Bloomington Jefferson in Week 1, but needed a late fourth-quarter touchdown to get by Benilde-St. Margaret's 34-27 last week.

Quarterback play will be something to watch with each team's offense relying on its signal caller. The Falcons' Collis Barber went 6-for-8 passing and finished with 119 yards and three touchdowns last week, while the Hawks' Phillip Howard threw for two TDs and ran for another.
