Eden Prairie at Cretin-Derham Hall
4:30 p.m., Monday, April 20

No. 4-3A Eden Prairie (2-2) has split its first four games but has scored plenty of runs in the process. The Eagles are averaging 7.25 runs per game while allowing 5.25. Monday’s game at No. 3-3A Cretin-Derham Hall (5-1) begins a stretch with nine of 11 games on the road over the next three weeks. Eden Prairie lost a 6-5 heartbreaker to top-ranked Lakeville North last Thursday, losing a 5-3 lead entering the bottom of the seventh inning. Senior catcher Tyler Safgren and Wesley Young homered to stake the Eagles to the lead.

Meanwhile, Cretin-Derham Hall has lost just once, falling to Suburban East Conference rival Mounds View, 3-2 in extra innings on April 14. In its other five games — all victories — Cretin-Derham Hall has pounded out 54 runs, scoring no fewer than seven in any of them. Cleanup hitter Justin Weinberg went 2-for-3 with an RBI against Mounds View.
