Prior Lake needs its underclassmen to step into the limelight after the departure of 13 seniors. The returning bright spot is senior outfielder Nick Vaage, whose .317 average, four home runs, and 12 RBIs earned him All-Conference honors last season. 

Seven players from Eden Prairie’s 2014 team are going on to play college baseball, and the consistently talented Eagles and looking to make six state tournament appearances in seven years. If last year’s Class 3A runner up wants to take home the crown this season, the catalyst will be junior infielder Jeff Athey. He was named All-Conference honorable mention last year and has verbally committed to Nebraska.
