Minneota at Dawson-Boyd
7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26

Minneota and Dawson-Boyd face off Friday in a battle of top-five ranked Class 1A teams. The Vikings, while ranked lower at No. 4, enter as the highest scoring team in Minnesota after defeating Canby 76-0 last week. The Blackjacks sit at No. 2 and are coming off a 41-16 win over Lac qui Parle Valley.

Minneola (4-0) and Dawson-Boyd (4-0) each have talented backfields that could test the opposing defenses. Minneota quarterback Alex Pohlen has thrown for 555 yards and eight touchdowns while running back Garrett Hennen has a team-high 113 rushing yards per game and nine touchdowns. Dalton Palmer has been key for the Blackjacks this season, rushing for 806 yards in four games and scoring 11 times. Junior quarterback Jess Hansen has aided the Dawson-Boyd offense by throwing for 527 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Minneota was the state runner-up last year and took down Dawson-Boyd 27-6 in the regular season.
