Caledonia at Chatfield

These teams from the Southern Football Alliance Conference Blue Division and Section 1AA have combined to win the last four state Class 2A championships.

Caledonia won three consecutive titles from 2010-12, while Chatfield won the championship last year. The Gophers took down Warriors in overtime 13-10 in the section title game to reach the state tournament. Both teams are ranked among the best in the state with Caledonia (5-0) sitting at No. 2 and Chatfield (3-1) at No. 8.

The Warriors won last year's regular-season matchup 19-18. The Gophers avenged that loss with a victory in the section title game. 

Caledonia's only close game this season came in a 7-6 win over Rushford-Peterson, the team that defeated Chatfield 29-12 on Aug. 30. The Gophers had a bye week last week, giving them two weeks to prepare for the Warriors.
