Champlin Park at Coon Rapids
4:15 p.m., Thursday, April 24

The 6-foot-3, 181-pound Boxwell is superb athlete (he set a school single-game receiving record last football season with 212 yards) who is off to a great start this season. He went 2-for-3 with a run scored in Coon Rapids’ season-opening win over Robbinsdale Armstrong on April 10. Boxwell tossed a two-hit shutout in three innings of work on Saturday as the Cardinals won the "Battle of the Rapids" by beating Grand Rapids 3-1. Six-foot-3, 199-pound junior Tyler Wojciechowski, who also plays hockey, is another top pitcher for the Cardinals.

Champlin Park has defeated Elk River 6-4 and Maple Grove 8-0 to start its season. The Rebels are expected to be led by two of last year’s standouts -- .370 hitter Kipp Youngquist and pitcher Trevor Kiminski (3-0, 2.52 ERA, 16 strikeouts).
